Buying That Wireless Web Camera
Mar 24th 2007bearBuying That Wireless Web Camera
I decided to buy that wireless web camera. I spent some time at the store too trying to decipher which one of the multitude of products out there was the best. Luckily, I had my colleague there with me along with a very helpful sales clerk. Both provided big help by informing me of the features of each product, the ease of setting it up and even the price of it.
I was quite surprised that for a product that does some of the things they said, it didn’t go upwards of 300 dollars. I think getting a wireless web camera is a bargain for anyone, not just travelers like me. If you work a regular nine to five job, then hey, you could look after your pets when you’re at the office. If you live in a different state than some of your family, it’s a good way to keep connected without having to spend a fortune on your phone bill or a flight.
And about my worries about setting it up, it didn’t matter at all. The wireless web camera that I bought came with a wireless server that detected the wireless router and configured the device for me. As for what those things mean, don’t ask me. I do not know. All I know is that my wireless camera is ready to use.
My colleague helped me to set up the rest of the features. I was able to make my own web address so I can access a live video feed if I want to by just going there. He also showed me how to set up motion detection and even send some pictures to me by email of what is going on in my house. That would prove to be helpful when I am not able to check on them because of my busy schedule. I could just check my email for the pictures.
My young son told me that he’d make sure that he would pass by there everyday and would even hold up signs that would say how he was doing and anything else he thought that I might want to know.
I never looked forward to leaving my family for a tour. I’m not saying that I’m looking forward to it now. I just think this wireless technology is going to make it easier.
